Author Bio

Wendy Owens was born in the small college town, Oxford Ohio. After attending Miami University, Wendy went onto a career in the visual arts. After several years of creating and selling her own artwork she gave her first love, writing, a try. Her first novel flowed from her in only two weeks time (then the real work started with four months of editing). That moment was when she knew she had found her calling. Wendy now happily spends her days writing the stories her characters guide her to tell, admitting even she doesn't always know where that might lead. Her first series, The Guardians, consists of five books, Sacred Bloodlines, Cursed, The Prophecy, The Lost Years, and The Guardians Crown.

She is better known for her romance books, Stubborn Love and Only In Dreams, both released in 2013. Coming in 2014 is her Wandering Hearts Series to include, Do Anything, It Matters To Me, and Jack’s Redemption.

When she's not writing, this dog lover can be found spending time with her tech geek husband, their three amazing kids, and two pups. She loves to cook and is a film fanatic.

REVIEW:

The first word that popped into my head when I finished this book was....WOW! I have to say that this book is now one of favorite books. I cannot wait to read the next one. This book was well written for me. I literally read this book in a day. I just could not put it down. The story line flowed perfectly and I was able to follow it throughout the whole book. Now, a little about the story....

First, I really do not like Jack. This is Annabelle´s ex and he was just awful to me. Owens wrote their relationship and problems in a way that I felt everything that Annabelle was. I disliked Jack so much Holden was like a 10 out of 10 to me.

Holden is Annabelle´s new friend technically. A friend that she likes of course but they want to take things slow because of their past relationships. Holden really is amazing. I wish I could go to England and stay at his inn. One of my favorite things he does is call Annabelle by a name that no one else does, Belle. I love this. It makes them seem like they are in their own little world.

Like any good story their has to be some kind of drama in it...right? Well, Annabelle  finds herself in predicament that might cost her more than she knows. How will she figure out her problems? You'll find that answer inside the book. I definitely recommend this book.

Review: 
I LOVED reading this book. First of all though, have to say, the cover for this book is one of my absolute favorites. The heart is so pretty and creative because of the vines in the middle. The vines, of course, hold three important names. If you didn't read the synopsis (go back and read it since it's right here for you)... anyways, you know that Lauren is going to have a choice to make. I loved the layout of this book and the storyline. At the beginning, I kept asking myself, " What is going on?" But, not in a bad way, I just had to know what was going on with Lauren and What was Gavin? I loved the fact that the story kept rolling. The concept of time was fast so that a month would go by really quick, which I was happy with because I wanted to figure out what was going on. I love Lauren and Gavin, however, we know that something or someone could effect relationships... hints: Daniel. This guys likes to stir things up and make things confusing for Lauren.  How will he affect Lauren and Gavin? How will he affect the whole story? Well, as usual, I'm not going to give it away. You'll have to read it.

Review:

I honestly loved this book. It took a different view of the Greek gods. I love stories that have to do with gods. This story is centered around Sophie and Adrian though. Adrian was the mystery I was trying to figure out to begin with. But, then I had to figure out what was going on with Sophie. I love when I don´t know what is going to happen in a book. This book fit the bill for sure. I loved the whole story line and will be reading this book again very soon. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story to figure out.



Thundering Luv Review

Problem is, she didn't find them the least bit exciting. Was she cold or a she-wolf for guys? Colin thought so, and he'd do anything to bring her down a peg or two. When these two collide on the sandy beach during their mixed up summer vacation, sparks fly, making this a summer neither will forget.

Review:
This book was a wonderful read. It had a great storyline with enough suspense and romance to keep the reader reading. Jewel and Colin find themselves at the same place for their vacations. While at school, Colin watched Jewel from afar and Jewel did not really know who he was. When they find themselves together, they finally get to know each other and change the views they have of one another. Now, they have a chance for a relationship but will it last?

I would recommend this book for everyone.

Review of reEmergent

*if you haven't read Survival, Ressurection, or Determinant, this review will be a spoiler!*

I can't believe this series is over!  When you follow a series from beginning to end there is almost this sadness when you read the final 'the end'.  Thankfully it was a great end that did not disappoint whatsoever.  I'm sad to see The Guardians of Vesturon series come to a close, but I got to say I was completely satisfied.

Poor Xarrid.  You can't help feel bad for him.  His mate was kidnapped in Determinant and they can't find her.  Luckily it didn't take to long to locate her, but once they did she didn't remember anything.  Xarrid and Saylan have to work really hard to get back what they once had, and her trauma from being kidnapped threatens them ever having that relationship back.

It was great getting a glimpse into the characters lives that I had fallen for in the previous books in the series.  Rykerion and January have a cute little toddler and Rykerion is still giving Jurek the death stare.  Rayn and Maddie get a nice little surprise.  Maddie is still as strong as ever when she insists to join the mission on Earth.

When I started the book I was like but A.M. what about Sharra?  She still doesn't have a mate and thats just wrong.  Little did I know she definitely did not forget about the only girl of the royal family.  Sharra and Zander have a great bond.  I love that the series has soulmates and Sharra finally ran into hers.  They are both powerful Guardians and a great match.

I love Jurek in this book.  Man I did not like him in Determinant he was a jerk most of the time and then I warmed up to him when I read the Dark Waltz.  In reEmergent he plays such a big role in helping the Yarristers.  I love that we get to see this soft side to him even though he still holds up his authority and domineering side too.  You get to see that his hardened heart still cares for others!  <3 Jurek.

The ending ends with many happily ever afters but does leave some room.  I can't wait to see where Hargrove goes with the Praestani Series (starting with Dark Waltz).  I still think Tesslar should end up with me!  I mean how perfect would it be?  Tess <3 Tesslar ;)

Review:

 I really enjoyed this novel. It had a wonderful story line to it. It had just enough action and romance that it was not overwhelming. I was hooked from the beginning; I had to know what was going to happen next. Ballew has a great read with his novel.

 

I enjoyed relationship between Zander and Sylver. They are so cute. What better couple than a vampire and witch? Unfortunately, it isn't that easy. Sylver is special and has a interesting secrets that will run her life. She has to figure out who she is meant to be.

 

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to everyone.

As the auctioneer spoke, two Sekhmi in eveningwear—a male carrying an elegant dagger and a female a silver tray covered with glass vials—approached the Amiti girl.

“She’s barely eighteen, ladies and gentlemen. That’s a good three years younger than the youngest bloodstock you’ll usually come across. Look at her; she’s stunning, simply stunning, and as you can see, we’ve kept her well conditioned, in excellent health.”

The auctioneer paused as the male Hunter grasped the Amiti’s hand and held it above the tray. The girl showed no resistance, her only display of anxiety the butterfly fluttering of her thick eyelashes. He raised his other hand, and the dagger flashed in the light as with a swift motion he slit the Amiti’s palm. The dark, intoxicating scent of fresh blood filled the room as it poured into the vials.

Simone’s gums began to itch and burn, and she covered her mouth with her hand so no one would see her fangs punching down. It was considered terribly rude to expose one’s fangs in public, even among other vampires. But she needn’t have worried; everyone’s attention was riveted to the stage and the blood flowing from the girl’s wound. The room vibrated with bloodlust and sexual arousal.

            The female Sekhmi approached Simone’s table, offering the Royal Pride the first of the blood samples. Knowing that all eyes were on her, Simone forced herself not to hesitate and took a small sip—and was immediately flooded with euphoria.

            “For this magnificent specimen, we open the bidding at ten million U.S. dollars,” announced the auctioneer.

 

 

Excerpt 2 (Simone and Oberon)

She loved tormenting him, making him tremble with anticipation, his breath hitching in his throat. She knew it turned him on, and she’d also discovered that his blood tasted even better than usual when he was aroused.

“Now go to the wall and spread your arms. Make it easy for me to punish you,” she commanded.

Oberon obeyed, leaning against the wall and placing his wrists into the metal cuffs embedded in the wall. Simone locked the cuffs and left him like that.

A moment later, she returned looking like Catwoman in a black latex bodysuit, her hair pulled into a high, thick ponytail. She’d accessorized with thick studded cuffs at her wrists, a braided whip at her waist and a dagger in her hand.

Walking slowly and deliberately toward Oberon, she sliced through all his clothing, removing it and his weaponry piece by piece. Dropping the dagger she tilted her head to appreciate the sight of him: completely naked, vulnerable, and helpless—and hard for her, of course. Good.

She showed him her fangs then lowered her mouth to his jugular and bit into the skin lightly, releasing only a few drops of blood. She lowered her head to his chest, tracing the muscles there with her tongue, and then, using her fangs as daggers, she pierced his skin in unexpected places: his chest, shoulders, biceps, abs, hips. The blood oozed from the cuts, and soon Oberon’s body was covered with crimson streaks that formed random, vivid patterns across the golden skin of his torso and legs.

“You look incredibly sexy,” Simone heard herself saying as she shifted into an altered state, seeing nothing but this tantalizing male body bleeding for her.

 

Excerpt 3 (Oberon is captured. Anock is interrogating him)

“I can’t do that, Anock.”

“Oh, but you can. You don’t want this female to die, do you?”

“No, I don’t, and I appeal to your mercy, Anock. You can spare her life; it’s your choice as much as it is mine. More than mine. I will not give the Keepers up. There’s nothing that you can do that will change my mind.”

“Yes, Oberon, you will. At the count of three. One.”

“I am so very sorry.” Oberon glanced at the woman. She held her head down, but her shaking shoulders betrayed that she was crying. “There is nothing I can do for you. The Keepers are the only Amiti’s hope, I cannot give them up.”

Please Goddess, kill me. Spare me from having to make this choice.

“Two!” Anock was bluffing. He had no intention of letting the woman die. It was a test of wills.

“Please, Anock. You’re a warrior, not a butcher. How can you reduce yourself to this level? Torture me, kill me, do whatever you want, but please, don’t waste her life.”

Anock looked one last time at the Amiti.

This is so wrong.

“Three!”

Blade’s sword hissed through the air, slicing through the female’s neck. Her head hit the floor and rolled toward the cage, lifeless jade-green eyes staring into Anock’s soul. It took a few seconds for the body to collapse to the floor.

The hysterical screams of the other Amiti filled the room.

Anock stared, transfixed, at the lifeless eyes.

Cara’s eyes. Oh Goddess.

 “Take the bloodstock to her cell and clean the place up,” he ordered, his voice and brain totally disconnected, and left.

Review:

 

I really enjoyed this novel. I was hooked from the first chapter. I’ve been reading a lot of paranormal/fantasy novel lately so I feel like I am like a junkie.  This novel is one of the better ones that I have read. It was wonderful.

 I loved the story line of this book. It was very intriguing. I was thrown into a world that was very unique. The story kept my attention through the whole book and I loved the action in it. This novel had many wonderful characters in it and I felt like I could have been a part of their lives. Argos has written a very wonderful novel and I would recommend it for everyone.

Review of Faded

Faded was such a great sequel!  I loved it from beginning to end and literally did not put it down.  Jaded ended with such a shocker.  I really didn't know where Faded was going to beginning, but Mercy did an amazing job continuing the story that keeps me on my toes.  I know for sure this trilogy always will.  

The relationship between Scarlett and Stephan obviously have their bumps (I'm sure you know why if you know how Jaded ended!)  BUT they ended up staying strong and sweet.  Stephan was a great support for Scarlett.  She has to make a lot of important decisions for herself in Faded and she couldn't have done it without him.  I also really love the character that Stephan has become.  For a lot of the book he really was just a guy (a little horny at times and it was hilarious)!  Mercy does a great job of staying true to them being young adults even though they are having to make adult-ish decisions!  

I'm also really excited for what's to come with Alec and Bridgett.  I could just see the tension coming off the page between them but because Scarlett is so preoccupied the reason why that is isn't revealed!

Overall I thought Faded was a great 2nd book.  Even though I'm pretty sure this ending was almost as a killer as the ending of Jaded (but in a good way!)  For some reason while I was reading it I felt that Faded's writing style was a mix between Jillian Dodd and Michelle Mankin.  I don't know if any one has read any of their books but I would be curious to know if someone else felt the same way.  It's a great mix to have!  

I would recommend Faded to any Young Adult lover!  Just don't forget to read Jaded first! <3
